    Roof Bolts

Roof bolts are steel bolts installed into rock or ground above an excavation to help hold the roof or overhead material in place.

They are commonly used in tunnelling, mining, underground excavations, portals, shafts, and civil ground support works where the overhead ground needs reinforcement. Roof bolts help bind the surrounding rock or ground together, reducing the risk of loose material falling or the excavation roof becoming unstable.

Roof bolts are usually installed by drilling a hole into the roof or overhead ground, placing the bolt into the hole, and securing it using grout, resin, mechanical expansion, or another anchoring method. Once installed, the roof bolt works with the surrounding ground to create a stronger, more stable support system.
